Japan's Reliable Technology, Rich Experience, and our Great Achievements can help protect the wonderful people in the Philippines from the threat of an earthquake.

Protecting the Philippine with Proven Japanese Technology

Meisei's seismometers, which are used by Japan Meteorological Agency, have also been used by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) since 2014.

In Japan, a country prone to earthquakes, Meisei has been advancing its disaster-prevention technology for over 80 years. We have achieved great success in providing our products to the government and public agencies such as Japan Meteorological Agency, Japan Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Fire Departments, and local governments; as well as transportation infrastructure such as railways and highways, and private facilities. In the Philippines, we also provided observation devices (seismometers, tide gauges) for a wide-area disaster prevention system. Our seismometers are also used in schools, PHILVOLCS, buildings, and more. Our reliable technology, extensive experience and achievements that we have cultivated in Japan, can help protect your beautiful country from the threat of earthquakes, in order to contribute to disaster mitigation.

Compliance with DPWH Guidelines

Meisei's seismometers comply with the higher specifications that the Philippine Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) requires the installation on buildings.

In the Philippines, the DPWH has issued "GUIDELINES AND IMPLEMENTING RULES ON EARTHQUAKE RECORDING INSTRUMENTATION FOR BUILDINGS" that requires building owners to install seismometers, in accordance with the following conditions: View DPWH Guidelines and Rules Since our seismometers meet the higher specifications required in the Philippines, we ensure that they can be installed safely.

Note: the DPWH rules require that the seismometer must be placed in a waterproof and dustproof enclosure case.

Product Introduction

The highly reliable External System Control Seismometer that uses PHILVOLCS Earthquake Intensity Scale (PEIS)

S401-PSC

The External System Control Seismometer S401-PSC calculates the PHILVOLCS earthquake intensity scale (PEIS), developed by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), to measure the intensity of earthquakes, and displays the intensity scale on the screen in real-time.

Electrical signals can be output to crucial equipment and controlled once the intensity scale is calculated.

The compactly designed processor with built-in-integrated sensor and accelerometer (X, Y, and Z) enable a series of processes from seismic observation to control signal output to proceed as a single unit.

When the S401-PSC detects the earthquake, it sends an alert message to the PC on which the Alert Software will display a pop-up window that notifies the occurrence of an earthquake.

  • Our Product's Key Strength #1.

    Central Monitoring and Control:

By installing the built-in software, a user can display immediate earthquake information on the PC screen, which facilitates centralized monitoring and control at a disaster prevention center or related office.

  • Our Product's Key Strength #2.

    Contact Output:

    • Features real-time control system; when an earthquake occurs, the seismometer outputs an electrical signal, immediately delivering the earthquake information to the staffs in the control room.
    • Configuration of individual device control, such as a buzzer, siren, revolving lights, or an announcing device, is also possible.
  • Our Product's Key Strength #3.

Operation is Both Simple and Easy!

    • The small and compact unit with integrated sensor and processing unit is easy to install anywhere thanks to its compact design.
    • The installation process is straightforward. All you need to do is attach the unit to the wall.
    • The monitoring software being built-in makes operation simpler because there is no need for additional installation.
